NFT Collection by Football Star Lionel Messi Coming Soon on Ethernity Chain
Sports industry giants and popular personalities have started dabbling into the NFT market. Football sensation and Argentinian Lionel Messi has joined hands with Ethernity Chain to launch his own NFT collection Messiverse.
The announcement came on Tuesday, August 4, through a short video on his Instagram profile. Messi invited his audience to “discover his first collection of NFT’s on Ethernity”. He further added: “Soccer is like art: It’s timeless”.
As part of the plan, Messiverse will initially have an NFT collection of four art pieces, each representing himself.
Man from the Future – This NFT is a futuristic portrayal of Messi turned against the blue background having a robotic appearance and glowing eyes.
Worth the Weight – This NFT also represents golden Messi carrying a massive soccer ball just the way Atlas carried the Earth.
The King Piece – A Chess-themed drawing showing Messi framed by a ring of soccer balls.
This is a surprise and an unreaveled piece.
Australia-based digital artist “Bosslogic” is the person behind the NFT collection of the Messiverse. The digital artist is popular on social media for having worked with the world’s biggest brands like Disney and Marvel. The digital artist said:
“The collection is a set of pieces outlining achievements, moments, team love, and future accomplishments focusing mainly on the man himself. Thanks to Ethernity, the dream of working with one of my favorite people in the world and one of the GOATs of our time, Messi, I have had the honour and privilege to create a set of pieces for the icon; to go down in history as his first singular NFT drop!”
The Messirverse launch shall happen ahead of this month on August 20.
A Deep Dive into Each of the Four NFTs from the NFT Collection by Messi
The first NFT “Man from the Future” will feature Messi in an AI bionic form. It features the iconic achievement of scoring 750 goals combined for Argentina and Barcelona. Bosslogic will depict the 34-year-old footballer by envisioning him in cyber football leagues of tomorrow.
Also, the second NFT “Worth the Weight” draws a comparison of Atlas carrying the weight of the Earth. Thus, it represents Messi’s contribution to the sport of football playing for both his country and the club. It also shows that the footballer has shouldered the responsibility of carrying his teams to victory against major challenges.
Similarly, the third NFT “The King Piece” is named after the popular chess game famous during the Middle Ages. Here Messi represents the king of the board, the piece that also determines the game’s winners and losers.
