The fine was imposed on Foris DAX MT Limited (DAX MT), which runs Crypto.com, for operating in the Netherlands without registration and faced a $3.1 million fine from the Dutch central bank. The reasons were many, including offering services to a significant number of customers in the Netherlands and not paying supervisory fees. The platform is now registered with DNB. The base fine was 2 million euros, which has been increased due to the severity and persistence of  non-compliance. The company, disappointed with DNB’s decision, is actively appealing for it. DNB has previously imposed hefty fines on Binance and Coinbase, for operating without registration.
