Michael Saylor has predicted that the upcoming spot bitcoin (BTC) ETFs could be the biggest development on Wall Street in the last 30 years. In an interview with Bloomberg TV, Saylor compared the potential impact of spot BTC ETFs to the introduction of the S&P 500 ETF, which allowed investors easy access to that index. Saylor argued that mainstream investors have not had a compliant channel for investing in Bitcoin and that the new ETFs will drive a demand shock for the cryptocurrency, followed by a supply shock in April’s halving event. The halving will see just 450 BTC produced each day, compared to the current 900.
